History of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas were established in 1985 under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, as part of the National Policy on Education. The goal: to identify and nurture rural talent and provide quality education irrespective of socio-economic status.
• Managed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, under the Ministry of Education (Government of India)
• Free residential education from Class 6 to 12
• Over 650+ JNVs across India (in almost every district)

Achievements & Excellence
• Producing civil servants, doctors, engineers, scientists, defense officers, artists, and change-makers
• Outstanding results in CBSE board exams annually
• Alumni accepted in IITs, AIIMS, NDA, NEET, UPSC, and foreign universities
• Featured in national awards, Olympiads, and innovation contests

Study Pattern & Curriculum
Navodaya students follow a disciplined and holistic curriculum:
• CBSE-affiliated syllabus
• Special emphasis on science, mathematics, languages, humanities
• Smart classrooms, computer labs, science labs, and digital tools
• Continuous mentoring and remedial support
• Migration scheme to promote national integration (inter-state exchange program)

Activities & Campus Life
JNVs aren’t just about academics — they’re a way of life.
• Morning PT & evening games (Football, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Athletics, etc.)
• Cultural evenings, art competitions, music, dance
• Work experience programs: gardening, carpentry, weaving, etc.
• Scout & Guide training

Governance Body
JNVs are governed by:
• Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) – An autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India
• Supervised by the Board of Governors and regional NVS offices
• Local Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) led by the District Magistrate
• Regular inspections and monitoring ensure transparency and excellence
